Welcome to the Dark Side

May 15th, 2006 by esadiman

Finally made a successful migration from windows to linux. I tried with my shuttle box first but leave that to the evil hand of m$. well, reinstalling windows just to play DOTa was a pain in the ass. my Dell c840 nworks perfecly fine. ubuntu 5.10 (breezy badger) is easy to install and fit in a cd compared to other linux distro. I did a installation time comparison between windows xp pro and ubuntu 5.10. ubuntu have far less installation time; around 3 hours for my full custom multimedia machine (irc, video player and codecs, opera web browser). windows on the other hand took 5hour plus just to install and updates. not to mention that every linux distribution comes with open office. to put it in a simple word when I install ubuntu , everything is ready to go.

ubuntu/linux pro:
IT’S fREE - Bill Gates will be $100 dollar poorer
everthing is ready upon installation. auto update.
works with old and new computers (from intel based to amd 64 architecture)
multi desktop (made life far easier)
FREE SOFTWARE!!! and most of them are updated automatically
very stable.
virus infection is very very unlikely to happen
very helpful and vast wiki for dummies and noobs (http://wiki.ubuntu.com/)
everthing is customizable.

ubuntu/linux con:
i’m having trouble with h264 encoding (most of the time the problem lies in the encoder side and this problem will be fixed soon :) by the linux hardworking people
you have to get your hand dirty because some of the installation requires you to work with terminals (its like msdos) but you’ll get used to it quickly
probally the most thing that i hate the most is that the prog i used to view manga in zip is so slow compare to acdsee (i’m used to my enter-space-esc-down key stroke). yet this problem is software related and i am sure there are better prog out there.

conclusions
the only thing that i consider a major wall to overcome is to understand the installation process in linux and the ubuntu served as the best choice for beginner. once you get through that everything else is a breeze. oh yeah linux can also emulate windows. it also can dual boot yer OS meaning that you can have windows and linux in the same machine. linux guide books cost from 20usd to 40usd and comes with the installation cd of your choice.

Last Educational Week

April 22nd, 2006 by esadiman

Time passed and its time to end my formal education. I took liberty from writing my chemE report to convey this feeling of (##$#%@$%). tuesday-written report due. thursday- another written report due. friday- presentation. saturday- control finals. after that is just a matter of waiting for graduation. many things will change after this… or not. im not sure myself.
umm hurray for crystallization of uranyl nitrate hydrate. it seems that i am not doing anything but whatever.. believe what you want to believe. oh yeah MTV have tainted my mind with yo momma… its evilllllll…..damn u mtv..
“yo momma so fat, when she walk across the room you’ll miss the whole season of making the band”

Bitchin’ new year

January 11th, 2006 by esadiman

this year start off quite bad. After a sweet vacation in florida i somehow injured my knee band (maybe before that). i can’t walk or run properly cause the pain really kicks in quite fast. the journey to the bookstore seems like a walk across the desert. but what ever lah. after a few weeks of training it should subside or ill have to go back to the medical center.

another bad stuff is the ITS guys seems to limit the bitorrent UL/DL. they sure know how to pissed me off. however i couldnt care less since i have faith in my patience and i still have my irc leeching skill. plus nothing interesting in the home console except for 360 which i will buy when the mode is avalable. bitching about my pain and thing that pissed me will not solve anything. the pain will subside and loopholes will always exist.

thing that makes me feel happy this month is that i only have 3 days of school. monday and friday are free. i am thinking of taking another class but another alternative plans already building up at the back of my head. decision decision decision…

anime review 1

December 22nd, 2005 by esadiman

ah so bored… at work guess ill review the stuff i watched. may contain spoiler

format : title (eps watched)/total eps

Gun X Sword (1-13)/24

Keyword: mecha, action
The hero carry sword and can summon robot from the satellite orbiting the planet. if you find trigun and mecha exciting this stuff is for you.

Pani Poni Dash (1-17)/26

keyword: school, comedy
I personally like this anime. however the jokes can be hard to understand coz most of them refer to anime you dont even know of. anyway if you like sensei no ojikan and azumanga daioh you may like this one.

Shuffle! (1-22)/24

keyword: anime derived from hgame.

you know the drill. same one indecive guy choosing 5 girls as his girlfriends but this time the set is the portal between human and god has opened. therefore he can choose to marry the daugther of gods or the devil and have either one of their power. the storyline is predictable untill eps 16 when everyone have psycotic secrets from multiple personality to insecure sydrome (hell those eps were scary). i enjoy the plot twist but sometime it looks like they run out of ideas.

winter rattling

like everyone else exam is over. yea!! ? iguess. the last exam surely sucks. one word would fit the course “FUn”. that class is sure is fun literally but the finals sucks to the core. it make you feel dumb. nevermind that. its over. case closed.

after the the traumatic finals i decided to let my mind loose. first day iwatched movies and do some light reading till my eye sore. the second day i played Digital Devil SAga until the last dungeon in record time (took me around 10hrs compared to 20hrs). after that i am bored. the third day (today) I watched some PV. by some i means around 50. found a few cute artists. i also watched some movies with the freshmen. oh yeah if you reading this, clean up your own fucking trash and dishes!!. im not angry at all but just to let u guys know that the house is not mine alone.

though people think that i am an ignorant bastard who have no feelings for human and animals i do have my own principles. i rarely get angry but if i do lose my temper it usually cools down fast. on that note if you ever see me angry i guess you are lucky?? back to principles. i believe in moderation and rationalization based on islam. a few things that i dont have is a GF. I dont believe in that concept for some obvious and unobvious reasons. first of all the obvious one: i dont feel like looking for one and i have to do extra works to compensate for my looks. the unobvious reasons is simple “even if you are engage, there are still things you can do and you cant do with your partner.” most couples lacks this understandnd. you may ask like what? umm hugging, kissing, and other stuff you can think off and see people doing it. “this is the modern world man. dont be a stuck up fuckers.” well, if you are a muslim and ask this matter to a proper sheikh/imam they will say the same thing escept with better language than i am. “so are going to be a loser your whole life?” i rather be a loser that die in hell. for the mean time i will enjoy life as it is

principle two: never betray people or/and lie to them. once you lie to me, prepare to see some hatred from me. betray me and you wish you never been born. i kept secret as secret and if there is time when betrayal and lie are the opposing force i will them know that i wont betray them but i wont let the secret out.

principle three: promise is made to be kept. i remember promises very well even the small one. dont say meet me at 3 when you gonna be there at 3:30 it really pisses me off. +- 5-10minutes is ok but dont push it too far honey.

principle 4: dont make fun of others innocence aka take advantage of people weakness and turn it to your own amusement. funny this comes out from me but i do believe there is an invisible line that shouldn’t be crossed. some jokes are best kept inside. the best jokes is enjoyed by everyone not yourself.

principle 5: i hate gay/lesbians/metrosexual/whateveryoucallthem people. i can tolerate them but i never condone to their sick idea. i never seen any gay cats or dogs. it is just soo wrong. “animals dont have feeling!” yeah but we have brains!!! “we are born we this feeling” dont give me that shit unless you was born with both vagina and penus which is a totally dfferent matter.

if you made it this far i congratulated you for spending some of your life for me. the next time you see me giving you a weird look try to remember one of these principles.

I just finished my engineering econ finals today. i’ll jump off a 1cm cliff if i dont get an A for that class. yea it’s that time of the year where you have finals and the bone chilling wind at the same time. waking up for exams at 8am with -7C took alot of courage and shirts.

anyway good luck to anyone taking their exams wherever you are (if you have time reading this crap when you have exams, give yourself a big slap in the face).

I"s out…
